The Food and Vintage Corner – A Place with timeless treasures, both vintage and delicacies
When you step into The Food and Vintage Corner in Lidköping, you enter a world where the old meets the new, where quality and history take center stage. Here, Amie and Linda have created a vibrant space for carefully selected vintage clothing and delicacies, where every product has a story to tell.
For Amie, the passion for vintage began long before the store took shape. After living in London for 22 years—a city filled with timeless design and quality fashion—she was inspired to bring the British secondhand culture back to Sweden. "I've always loved old things, going to auctions, and collecting treasures. It takes time and a bit of luck to find the real gems, but when my husband and I discover them, we bring them home."
Together with her husband, who shares her passion for vintage, Amie started her journey with a small antique shop in a barn in the Swedish countryside. "It was never planned—we just wanted something to keep us busy during the pandemic. But the interest grew, and now we've taken the step into central Lidköping." The barn is still there but is now more seasonal.
The new venture, The Food and Vintage Corner, is a collaboration between Amie and Linda, where their respective passions intertwine. Linda is all about food—she makes her own marmalades and carefully selects delicacies from local producers, as well as olive oils from Italy. Meanwhile, Amie focuses on vintage, with a particular love for denim. "We love worn-out jeans, vests, and jackets. Denim is timeless—it constantly reinvents itself, and really, you should never throw away a pair of jeans."
Together, they have created a space where customers can wander, get inspired, and enjoy the experience. "Our vision is for the store to be an experience—a vibrant place where people feel welcome. Here, you can buy a delicious cheese and marmalade from Linda while also finding a unique vintage jacket or a beautiful Rörstrand plate with a history from Lidköping."
This is just the beginning of the journey. Amie and Linda have many ideas and look forward to continuing to develop their unique meeting place in Lidköping. "We want to inspire, contribute, and show how you can combine the new with the old—and we look forward to welcoming even more people into our world."
